Stop Drop & Roll

Friday afternoon Eddie was leaving the house and he saw smoke in the air. At first he didn't think much of it because our neighbor is always grilling out. Then he noticed that it was a lot of dark smoke and it was coming from our next door neighbors yard. Our neighbors car was on fire in the yard!! Eddie ran over and was yelling his name because he was not sure if he had passed out, and could have possibly still been in the car. You see the car was pulled up to the bushes right in front of his house near the front porch. He never parks in the yard. Eddie got no reponse from yelling so he ran home to get a fire extenguisher and to call 911. The fire trucks came and a policeman that lives on our block came over too. He extenguished the burning bushes and the front porch rails that had caught on fire from the car flames. The tires on the car blew out due to the heat. The firemen went inside the house to look for our neighbor and he was not home. Praise God Eddie saw the smoke and called 911 to get the fire out because it could have done a lot more damage to his home. Come to find out our neighbor had just picked this car up from the shop. He had a new alternator put in it and they must have wired it wrong. He had just dropped it off at home and had just left to go pick his other car up from the shop. This is when the fire must have started. This is all so scary to me! I am just so thankful that nobody was hurt. Of course I took a picture of the car for you all to see. I assume the mechanic shop is buying my neighbor a new BMW.
